Non-emergency numbers are for crimes that require police response, but that are non-life threatening, loud parties, a group of juveniles loitering in front of your home, neighbor disputes, etc. To call and report a non-emergency complaint to the sheriff’s department call 706-821-1080 and tell the dispatcher the nature of the call, and you may request that the deputy answering the call not come to your house. This will give the person or persons you are calling about, no idea who called and complained. The dispatcher will need your name and phone number but this will be kept confidential; You can request to remain anonymous, but you have nothing to fear, and your willingness to step forward maybe the difference between a conviction and a warning.
